Again parked near the kill site, a wild wolf, who was neither afraid nor threatening, walks within feet of a friend, Dr. Richard Beckman. The photographer kept quiet and still, and the wolf proceeded on to the moose carcass nearby. The Keelers believe that consistent, non-threatening behavior coupled with NEVER attempting to feed or pet the wolves makes this level of tolerance possible. However, fearful that uneducated tourists will try to feed or pet the wolves, the park's managers have passed new park rules that now forbid this type of close encounter.
