Amazingly common in Denali, a bus load of tourists, two hikers, and a few lucky photographers happen to be at the right place at the right time as a wild wolf in Denali National Park ambles by. In Denali, close encounters are frequent and a spotting scope is rarely needed. The Keelers have witnessed and photographed this level of tolerance yearly since 1990, and have never seen a hint of aggressive or threatening behavior displayed. However, fearful that uneducated tourists will try to feed or pet the wolves, the park's managers have passed new park rules that now forbid this type of close encounter.
